A Giant Announcement

Over the last strange and stressful year, here at Bakehouse we have said time and time again that when things do start to return to normal, we hope it can be with a project that’s truly magical. A project that involves every single member of our fantastic team, our network of amazing creatives from all arts disciplines and showcases all aspects of what we do… and we are absolutely delighted to announce just that project. With enormous pride and joy, we want to introduce Bracknell Forest Giants, a forest festival of GIANT installations, music, theatre, story-telling, augmented reality, soundscapes, interactive performance and much more.

After being invited by Bracknell Forest Council to conjure up a unique placemaking event that would celebrate the local area and create a reason to visit, we came up with The Forest Giants – three spectacular installations supported by a programme of immersive wrap-around activities all designed to celebrate the woodland, the biodiversity, the preservation work and the tree planting schemes within the borough.

In less than a week’s time our team will be onsite in Bracknell installing three utterly mesmerising giant sculptures which celebrate Bracknell’s forest in a totally unique and magical way.

Each of the giants has their own enchanting story, personality and unique connection to the forest which has been developed from the borough’s tree strategy and by researching the history of the woodlands. The stories, characters and musical scores written especially for the event have been created to captivate visitors both local and from further afield.

After three very exciting and busy months of project development, design and build – we absolutely cannot wait to be live onsite next week.

This is a project into which we have poured all our love, creative energy and passion for what we do, and it is simply brilliant that it is one of the first we get to show you after the turbulence and uncertainty of recent times.

We really hope to see you there…
