Our mission
We believe that great events make a positive impact. Our mission is to create moments of unexpected delight and wonder that achieve meaningful connections between places, performances, and audiences.
Working in new and inventive ways with the skills of traditional theatre such as story, play, and creative set design, we bring people together, make memories, engage imaginations, and forge loyalties.
We care about people, and great performers and makers want to work with Bakehouse. Our aim is to surpass our clients’ objectives with some added Bakehouse magic, leaving audiences, and clients, feeling positive.
Our story
We’ve come a long way since we started back in 2011! From excited conversations around the original Bakehouse kitchen table to a multi-award-winning theatrical production company specialising in delivering interactive events.
Over the years we have expanded the team, developing all of the skills needed to create high-quality installations and unexpected moments of theatrical pop-up joy around the UK and beyond. Collectively we rise to every new challenge, and as a result have seen our company grow to where it is today.
Our workshop in Bristol is now over 18,000 square feet and houses a design studio, costume department, carpentry, metalwork and scenic workshops, photography & tech studio, and a huge store of set, props, costumes and equipment to deliver hundreds of events each year. We are proud of where we have come from and always excited about what’s around the next corner.
Meet the bakers
We have a network of hundreds of skilled craftsmen, performers, puppeteers, costumiers and event managers, that help us to deliver delightful off-the-shelf events and bespoke creations. Meet some of our star bakers, based at Bristol HQ. From set design and build, to scripting and direction, there’s oodles of experience and expertise in the mix.
