Through story-led design, carefully crafted installations and engaging activations, we create experiences that drive footfall, increase dwell-time and build meaningful connections between people and place.
We combine the craft of traditional theatre and performance with contemporary fabrication, technology and experience design, delivering work that is both attention-grabbing and operationally robust.
We care about the detail.
We care about the outcome.
And we care about the communities our work connects with.
Bakehouse Factory began in 2011 with excited conversations around a kitchen table and a shared belief between friends that live experiences could bring joy whilst working harder for the places that host them. Today, we are an award-winning creative production company delivering engaging installations and theatrical activations across the UK and beyond. We’ve built a large team of talented designers, makers, producers and performers who combine the craft of storytelling with operational expertise and our 18,000 square-foot Bristol workshop is home to a full service design studio, costume department, carpentry and metalwork workshop, scenic artwork and tech studio and an extensive store of sets, props and equipment.
This in-house capability allows us to design, build and deliver hundreds of projects each year with precision and care.
We love what we do and we’re proud of where we started, but we’re even more focused on where we’re going.

We reuse and repurpose our set, props and costumes wherever possible, and design with durable, modular materials that can evolve across multiple activations. Alongside this, we actively eliminate single-use plastics, switch to more sustainable material alternatives, recycle extensively, and offset our logistics emissions. While there is always more to do, we see sustainability as a continuous process of learning and improvement, and one that we will keep striving towards for as long as we are making work.
